We believe that God is creating one, new humanity in Christ and doing so without diminishing our cultural differences (e.g. Eph 2:11-21, 3:10-11; Rev 7:9-10). Therefore, we seek, personally and corporately, to be a multicultural and multigenerational church, united in Christ. We believe that this unity should not remain theoretical but that we should live it out together in real relationships (e.g. Mark 3:34-35; 1 Tim 3:15; 5:1-2). We are called to love each other in practical ways (e.g. John 13:34-35; 1 Thes 3:12; Heb 13:1; 1 John 3:18).
We seek to embody this in a number of ways including: having community groups, which provide a more intimate opportunity to share our lives and serve each other; running a quality children’s programme, because we treasure our children; having multicultural leadership; and regularly having multicultural faces at the front of church.
Question: Unity in diversity is hard to actually do. Our unity is found in Christ alone. How do we leverage that fact to help us ‘do’ unity better?
